Call for artists!

May 30, 2012

I need about 15 people willing to help with an upcoming art project for the thrill of it (yes, that means no money).

You will be building very simple sculptural forms, and I will provide the necessary measurements and some suggestions. We will have a common end goal, but the process, build, and details will be entirely up to you. We will all come together and assemble all of our pieces into a finished product on one evening, somewhere in Seattle (I have a location in mind).

Then we will leave it there.

After that, what happens is up to the viewer. It may be vandalized, stolen, ruined by the weather, or just thrown away. But maybe it’ll stay up for a while. You probably won’t have anything to show for it, except some pictures, a story, and an awesome feeling.

So, what do you say?

(P.S. This isn’t my something for this week.)

(P.P.S. Remember how many of you were excited about the Mario Coins project? We could do beautiful things together.)

If I lived in Seattle I’d be there. I’d show up with much enthusiasm and little talent, but I’d be there.

I wish I lived in Seattle! I’d be all over this. 😦 But alas, I’m in Canada. Look forward to an update on this

As with others, I would be on this like white on rice if I were in the area, but California is a bit of a commute. Really curious about what may come.
