21: Campaign Sticker

August 10, 2010

Who doesn’t like an obscure ’90s pop-culture reference? Who doesn’t like an overdone, sticking-two-names-together-on-a-campaign-sticker joke?

I think the answer to both questions is probably “Everybody,” but I don’t care about that. Check this out!

If you don’t get the joke… well, you were probably more popular than I was in middle school. But fret not, all will be explained.

Sure, I know way too much about Full House, but my knowledge pales in comparison to my younger brothers. They started rewatching all the episodes in syndication as a joke, sort of, but at some point along the way the joke became a genuine compulsion, and that eventually morphed into a twisted love and respect for the show.

It makes gift-giving fairly easy, though. Last Christmas, they both got shirts:

“Cut it out”

…and for birthdays this year, they got the bumper stickers.

They came back from the printers looking quite nice, I think.

As for the order of the candidate names, I did not intend to imply anything about the electability of a Greek-named front-runner in the eyes of the American public. It just sounds better as 2-syllable/4-syllable to me.

And, for those who are wondering why Danny Tanner didn’t make the cut… it’s because he’s a dweeb.

Man, you just had to bring 1988 crashing back down on me all over again, didn’t you.
